We envision a world where no new puppy owner feels lost in the first days of bringing a puppy home. Our Story
PuppySettled started with a frustration a lot of new dog owners share: most puppy advice is written for someone else’s life.
The checklists assume a backyard. The schedules assume someone’s home all day. The budgets assume money isn’t a factor. If your situation looked anything like a small apartment, a demanding job, a newborn already in the house, or a first year on a tight budget, you were left translating generic advice into something that might work for you — and hoping you got it right.
Real questions kept coming up, over and over:

Maya founded PuppySettled and leads both the writing and editorial direction of the site. She writes many of the core guides herself — especially the first-week, apartment-living, and crate-training content that started PuppySettled in the first place — and reviews every guide published here to make sure it meets the site’s standard: practical, honest, and built for real situations, not idealized ones.
As editor, Maya also sets the tone and standards every writer works from, making sure each guide stays specific and useful rather than generic. If you want to know who’s ultimately responsible for what goes on this site, it’s her.
Alex Ramirez
